Kalshi Alternatives: Where Else to Trade Event Contracts
Kalshi's regulated, US-only structure is exactly why some traders look elsewhere — here's what Polymarket, PredictIt, Manifold, and Limitless actually offer instead.

Kalshi's biggest selling point, being a CFTC-regulated exchange with dollar-denominated, identity-verified accounts, is also the reason some traders go looking for an alternative. Regulation as a designated contract market means new markets go through a formal approval process, which shapes both how fast Kalshi can list a fast-moving news event and, structurally, who can even use it: Kalshi is built around US-based customers, which makes it the wrong starting point entirely for anyone trading from outside the United States.
Polymarket is the platform most often mentioned in the same breath as Kalshi, and it solves the access-and-speed problem in the opposite direction: it's a crypto-native, USDC-settled platform that isn't gated by the same US regulatory approval process, which has historically let it list markets faster and across a wider range of categories. The tradeoff is real too — it requires a crypto wallet, involves blockchain transaction mechanics most brokerage-style traders have never had to think about, and its own terms of service restrict US persons, so it isn't actually an option for the exact audience most likely to already be using Kalshi.
PredictIt is the other side of the US-regulated coin: also legal for US traders, also dollar-denominated, but scoped narrowly to political and policy markets under its own CFTC no-action letter, with position caps that come attached to that regulatory relief. Someone who specifically wants Kalshi's broader categories, weather, economics, entertainment, sports, alongside politics, won't find that breadth on PredictIt, but someone whose interest is purely political contracts may find PredictIt's long operating history and academic roots a reasonable comparison point.
Limitless Exchange is worth knowing about as a smaller, newer, crypto-native alternative built on a similar real-money, broad-category model to Polymarket rather than to Kalshi specifically — useful context if what actually drew you to Kalshi was the idea of a real-money exchange rather than the US-regulated structure itself, and you're comfortable with wallet-based trading. Manifold Markets sits at the opposite end from Kalshi in every practical sense: no real money, no identity verification, and markets on almost anything a user cares to create, which makes it a poor comparison for anyone who values Kalshi's regulatory seriousness but a genuinely useful one for anyone who wants to explore forecasting without financial stakes.
The practical way to choose isn't to rank these platforms against each other in the abstract, it's to identify which specific thing about Kalshi doesn't fit your situation. If it's jurisdiction, Polymarket or Limitless are the real options, with the important caveat that both restrict US persons the same way Kalshi doesn't need to. If it's category breadth within the US, none of the other regulated options quite match Kalshi's range yet, which is worth knowing before assuming a switch solves the problem. And if it's risk tolerance rather than access, Manifold is a genuinely different kind of platform, not a smaller version of the same one.
Everything above, in the real, currently-trading prices.
